The word CUTE

In this post you will see the cutest baby French Bull dog.  My son's friend and his girlfriend just got a puppy yesterday.  I asked for them to come by and see me "Mama B" that's what my sons friends call me.  My oldest was home too. Well of course this little tiny six week old pup was just adorable.  I mean how cute is he?!!  I got to thinking about the word "cute" and started to laugh.  I remember when my son was little, yes he was the cutest little thing.  As he got into high school, I'd say "Lou those sneakers are cute, or Lou, your bike is cute, or I like your new car it's really cute."  One day Louie said "Mum, you gotta stop saying my things are cute..  Guys don't have "cute" cars, I don't have on "cute" sneakers Mum".  I got a chuckle out of that because he was exactly right.  Such a mom thing of me to have done.  I think it's  really CUTE of him to have said that to me.

Well I looked up the word cute and it says this---
attractive, or pretty in a childish way- youthful or delicate way.
So my son was correct and I'll watch my "cute" remarks when it comes to him.  One thing he doesn't understand yet is.....in a mothers heart when it comes to our adult children, we can remember them as our small children in an instant.

My Black Dog

This is Naydia, or other wise affectionately known as "The Beast", or "The Diva".  This beast is my baby.  We got Naydie six years ago at the Brockton MSPCA she was a tiny fourteen pounds and so lovable.  She is black lab and bullmastif mix a great combination.  The Bull Mastif is known as the "gentle giant" and we all know how Black labs are so playful and loyal.  Going thru the "empty nest" season, Naydia has been a comfort to me.  This dog awaits like I do for the kids to return home for a visit, or for the summer from college.  She's an "old friend" and truely a family member.

Some Vintage Baubles

Here are some old vintage pins, the blue flower pin is vintage 1970's and the crystal pins are from the 1940's 1950's.  Red Broach with matching clip on earrings are 1940's Trifari the set has its orginal hard cover case.

Vintage China

Here is another very old tea cup from my husbands side of the family.  One side says" coffee" and the other side says "mother". I got to inherit these antiques from my sister-inlaws because I am the "China Queen" of the family.  I love these cups. (including the cup from my last blog).
A wonderful old "huge" teacup.  This teacup is about 100 years old.  My husbands great Aunts use to have their morning coffee from this cup.  It's a great childhood memory of my husbands.

Some Shabby lamps.

I saw these lamps at a local home decor store.  I just loved them, they were the only two so I had to get them.  I adore the Waverly print.  The base of the lamps are glass with a "pink milk glass" interior.  Very Shabby Vintage looking.  They found a "home" in my bedroom!
